Fabricated Archive
POST ARCHIVE FACTION (PAF) is the collective that fabricate new structural formula through evolving archives. The iterations of prototypes based on continuous researching for formative elements aim to study structural evolution of the garments; those elements can be extracted from various fields such as architecture, multi media art and even nature.
We approach the design by classifying our archive into three positions— Right (fundamental model) / Center (bridging model) / Left (radical model). This classification model gives opportunity to explore from the most basic to the most radical elements of our design, which we use to question, disrupt and evolve.
POST ARCHIVE FACTION (PAF)は、先人たちが作り上げた洋服の歴史を元に、更に新しい洋服の構造を創り出し、新たな洋服の歴史を紡ぐことを追求した韓国のデザインチームです。
すでに完成されたとも言える現代の洋服の型がある中で、新しい洋服の構造をつくり出すことは容易ではなく、同ブランドでは洋服を製作する過程で幾度となく試作品を作り研究を重ねます。新しいデザインのアイデア源は建築やアート、自然現象などさまざまです。
そしてPOST ARCHIVE FACTIONでは自分たちが製作するコレクションを、政治的な3つの立ち位置になぞらえ「Right（保守/過去）」 / 「Center（中立/現在）」 / 「Left（革新/未来）」と分類しています。
この分類が洋服の基本の形を見直すとともにデザインの根本を考える場となっており、これらによって浮かんだ疑問を追求すべく既存のデザインを解体、そしてまた更に進化を重ねていくのがPOST ARCHIVE FACTIONです。
